On January 17, 2026, DeBraun officially signed with Baylor University, transferring from the University of Florida to become the newest dynamic playmaker for the Baylor Bears. For DeBraun, this transition is more than just a change of scenery or a new jersey; it is a profound homecoming.

Hailing from Willis, Texas, in the Montgomery area, DeBraun’s roots run deep in the heart of Texas football culture. During his time at Willis High School, he established himself as a formidable talent on the gridiron. Playing alongside standout quarterback DJ Lagway, DeBraun was instrumental in leading his team to an undefeated season and a coveted district championship during his senior year. His explosive speed, precise route-running, and unwavering determination made him a highly sought-after prospect in the Class of 2024.

Standing at 5’10” and weighing a solid 187 pounds, the dynamic wide receiver initially took his talents to the SEC, spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons with the Florida Gators. While his time in Gainesville provided valuable experience competing at the highest level of collegiate football, the undeniable call of home and the opportunity to make an immediate, tangible impact drew him back to the Lone Star State.

Now wearing #33 for the Baylor Bears, DeBraun is poised to light up McLane Stadium. His family shares in this immense excitement. As his mother recently shared with us, “We are truly grateful for this opportunity and believe he will be able to make an immediate impact for the Bears.” It is a heartfelt sentiment echoed by everyone who has followed his remarkable journey.
